Workshop Description

Qi Gong is the basis for all types of bodywork, energy work, martial arts and meditation.

In order to truly understand and practise Taijiquan as an internal martial art, a good and deep practice of Qi Gong is required. One could say that Taijiquan is a form of Qi Gong. This can also be seen in the fact that the practices of Qi Gong and Taijiquan use the same foundations and principles, are strongly intertwined and originate from the same sources.

Many qigong systems, as well as all traditional styles of taiji and their various forms, are familiar with “cloud hands”.

In this workshop, we will learn the “cloud hands” exercise. A beautiful and touching series of movements that also represents the connection and transition from qigong to taiji.

We will feel and discover the different qualities of qi (yin and yang / rising and falling / expanding and contracting), work with them and become aware of their effect on our health and well-being. Practising cloud hands gently works on the back, opens the hips, harmonises the interaction between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, trains our coordination skills, has a calming effect on our nervous system and thus also introduces us to the topic of moving meditation. The course is open to everyone, whether beginners or advanced, as we will be working on areas that are new and full of learning experiences for everyone.
